About the Workshop
Ever felt stuck when trying to describe your creative work for a grant application, pitch, or promotion? You're not alone. This fun and interactive workshop will guide participants through real-life writing scenarios and offer helpful advice for crafting accurate, engaging descriptions of projects (both existing and yet-to-be made). Get pro tips from Roxanna “Roxie” Myhrum’s extensive experience reading and writing puppetry prose, and gain confidence in clearly communicating your vision.
Participants from all creative disciplines are welcome, though examples will be drawn primarily from the field of contemporary puppet theater with a focus on grant writing and marketing applications.
This workshop is scheduled in advance of the March 4th deadline for the Jim Henson Foundation Artist Grant and is a great opportunity to get feedback on your grant application.
Roxie will review some participants’ grant applications (complete with show and plot description) in advance of the class — email it to ash@puppetshowplace.org. Your work may also be used as an example during the class.
Recommended for adults 18+
